A complete, plain-language account of what BudgetMan does with your information, how advertising and subscriptions work, and the privacy rights available to you wherever you're located.
Your financial data stays on your device.
We never see it, store it, or transmit it — only limited technical data passes through our advertising and payment partners.
This Privacy Policy governs the BudgetMan mobile application ("the App," "we," "us"), currently available on the Google Play Store, with an iOS release coming soon to the Apple App Store. It is issued by its developer, who acts as the data controller for the purposes described below.

Privacy Inquiries
BudgetMan is built around a single, non-negotiable principle: your financial life belongs on your device, not on ours. That said, this section lists everything the App and its service providers handle, in full, so nothing is left unclear.
This data is entered by you, used by you, and stored only by you — see Section 3.
To show ads and process subscriptions, BudgetMan integrates two third-party providers. These providers — not BudgetMan — collect the data below, acting under their own privacy policies:
Neither provider receives your financial data — transactions, budgets, and goals are never shared with them.
All of your financial data — transactions, budgets, goals, and settings — is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. We do not operate a server, and we do not collect, transmit, sync, or store any of this data ourselves.
The App never requests or connects to bank logins, cards, or any external financial account.
Expenses, income, budgets, categories, and history are stored exclusively on your device.
Nothing financial is uploaded, synced, or sent to any server, cloud, or third party — ever.
BudgetMan's Smart Alerts and spending suggestions are generated by logic that runs entirely within the App, using only the data already stored on your device. No financial data is sent anywhere to produce these insights, and no machine-learning model or external service is involved.
BudgetMan does not require account creation to use its core features. We do not collect your email address, password, or any personal identity information to operate the App.
BudgetMan relies on exactly two third-party service providers. We do not use any other analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK beyond what is listed here.
BudgetMan uses Google AdMob to display rewarded ads, which let you unlock additional free transactions. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers and usage data under Google's own Privacy Policy.
BudgetMan uses RevenueCat to manage and verify Premium subscriptions purchased through Google Play (and, once available, the Apple App Store). RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and subscription status on our behalf; it does not process your financial data entered in the App, under RevenueCat's own Privacy Policy.
The free tier of BudgetMan includes optional, user-initiated rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. You choose when to watch an ad; ads are never shown automatically or without your action.
Where required by the GDPR, UK GDPR, or equivalent law, BudgetMan presents a consent mechanism before any personalized advertising identifiers are used, in line with Google's EU User Consent Policy. You may choose non-personalized ads, or withdraw consent at any time through the in-app consent settings.
On iOS 14.5 and later, BudgetMan requests permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing the IDFA for ad purposes. If you decline, ads are still shown, but without cross-app tracking.
We do not sell your personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Ad-related identifiers processed by AdMob may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under some state definitions; where applicable, you can limit this through the in-app consent tool.
Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device, and processed with the help of RevenueCat.
You can export your data at any time from the Settings screen. The export file (JSON format) contains all of your app data and is saved to your device — it is not uploaded anywhere by BudgetMan. You are responsible for storing exported files securely and for backing up your data before switching devices.
Lost Premium after reinstalling the App or switching phones? Open Profile → Restore Purchase. This works as long as your subscription hasn't expired and you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google Play account originally used for the purchase.
You are always in control of your data, from creation to deletion.
You enter transactions, budgets, and goals directly in the App.
Data lives only on your device for as long as the App stays installed.
The App reads it locally to power reports and Smart Alerts.
Deleted instantly via "Reset All Data," or by uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights over the limited data described in this policy.
| Region | Rights available to you |
|---|---|
| European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR) | Access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. |
| California, USA (CCPA/CPRA) | Right to know what personal information is processed, right to delete, right to correct, and right to opt out of sale/sharing of personal information. |
| Other regions | We honor equivalent rights under applicable local law on a good-faith basis. Contact us to make a request. |
Because we do not hold your financial data ourselves, most requests relating to that data are resolved entirely on your device via the in-app "Reset All Data" or export function. For requests concerning data held by AdMob or RevenueCat, we will route your request to the relevant provider or point you to their self-service tools.
Where our service providers (Google AdMob, RevenueCat) process data internationally, they do so under their own published safeguards, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognized under GDPR. We do not independently transfer your financial data anywhere, since it is never collected by us.
BudgetMan is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not use interest-based or personalized advertising to target users known to be under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so it can be addressed.
Because your financial data stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own operating-system security (such as passcode, biometric lock, and disk encryption). We recommend keeping your device's software up to date and using a device passcode or biometric lock for an added layer of protection.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make any material change to our data handling practices — for example, introducing optional server-side syncing — we will notify you clearly through the App or its App Store / Google Play listing before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
